Talis Groups’ clients are Louisville law firms and corporate legal departments, often seeking a Litigation Paralegal or Legal Secretary to support their companies during vacations, sick days or other. This is an ideal situation for someone currently unemployed due to economic uncertainties, as it keeps you working and earning a paycheck in the legal community, but also puts you in front of potential employers and decision makers.

Below are some of the highlighted duties most paralegals or legal secretaries are tasked with during these temporary opportunities.

Job Requirements


  • Drafting legal documents; editing and proofreading.
  • Medical records requests, tracking and organization.
  • Search information from court-related databases as well as other online sources of case information
  • Review, analyze and organize document productions
  • Scheduling/ calendar management; tracking deadlines and court room appearances, etc.
  • Sorting mail, answering phones and filing.


  • Previous legal support experience, preferably in litigation. 
  • Knowledge of litigation procedures and processes including E-filing in state and federal courts
  • Technical skills in Microsoft Office 
  • Experience managing attorney calendars and dictation
  • Records requests
  • Must be able to multitask and successfully manage a variety of demands daily.
