Job Description

Talis Group’s client is an internationally prestigious manufacturer, located in the Southern Indiana area (just minutes from Louisville, KY). Company has a strong quality and lean culture.  Company is hiring a Sr. Buyer / Planner for their Jeffersonville plant.  This position is responsible for the procurement of raw materials (especially plastic resin) and components, accurate material planning and international vendor relations.   Company offers competitive salary and a good benefits package including 401K.

Job Requirements

Highlighted Duties:

  • Responsible for the procurement of all raw material (including plastic resin), components and MRO items
  • Manage vendor delivery schedule to optimize production support
  • Identify and recommend action for inventory turn issues
  • Maintain and update supplier database
  • Process P.O.s per requisition procedure
  • Ensure accurate and timely information is provided to proper parties
  • Maintain inventory levels
  • Monitor and analyze vendor costs, lead times and delivery performance
  • Identify and record problems with quality, product or process, as well as, provide solutions and implementation of solutions

Highlighted Requirements:

  • 5+ years related experience in Purchasing
  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Successful candidate will have experience purchasing plastic resin
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Experience in international sourcing and vendor management
