Job Description

A Talis Group client is seeking to hire a Production Specialist (Supervisor). This position is a ‘direct hire’ position. 

Talis Group’s client is focused on a culture of development and training for happy work/life balanced team members. This highly successful and growing manufacturer (with plants across the U.S.) is searching for a Production Specialist for their brand new Detroit, MI plant. This position will provide direct floor supervision to the production process.  Position offers excellent salary and benefits package. This is a great opportunity to jump onboard at a start-up facility! 

Highlighted Duties

  • Support the Production Manager to achieve targets and goals
  • Use leadership skills to train, coach and develop production team
  • Assess team member’s skill levels and coach/train to improve
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of TS 16949 status
  • 5S development / continuous improvement activities
  • Administer vacation, OT and payroll for direct reports
  • Maintain safe work environment
  •  Maintain records and documentation

Job Requirements

Highlighted Requirements

  • 3 years of direct supervisory experience in an industrial environment, including direct customer contact
  • Start-up experience a plus!
  • Possess strong background in automotive manufacturing
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement principles such as Kaizen, a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office products, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experienced using MRP systems
