This is a direct hire position.

Talis Group’s client is a successful Southern Indiana manufacturer valued by a range of customer companies around the world. Company is looking for a talented Human Resource and Accounting Manager to continue excellent work as their Administrative Manager (lead HR and accounting person on-site) after a well tenured predecessor. The new manager will be trained by the predecessor. Position coordinates the performance of HR services, policies, programs and accounting functions. Position oversees a team of two and reports to the Plant Manager and President. Accounting responsibilities include financial reporting and bookkeeping. This medium sized non-union facility enjoys an employee-friendly environment, along with excellent benefits and compensation ($85k - $90k). 

Job Requirements


Highlighted Duties:

  • Coach and direct human resources/accounting staff of two
  • Oversee HR: Recruitment, On-Boarding, Training, Employee Development and Benefits Administration (including FML tracking and administration)
  • Employee relations including investigations, coaching for success, HR compliance, retention, training and employee engagement
  • Accounting responsibilities include financial reporting, journal entries, income statement review, account reconciliation and understanding of balance sheets
  • Develop and prepare annual budget
  • Ensure all company policies and procedures as well as local, state and federal laws and regulations are maintained
  • Work directly with managers and supervisors providing HR guidance regarding administrations of policies and actions including discipline program
  • Develop solutions and help create a positive organizational culture in line with values and business priorities
  • Assist with employee safety and welfare programs
  • Coordinate with third party vendors including insurance broker, 401(k) and COBRA

Highlighted Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • HR certification desirable for employment/labor law compliance
  • 10+ years progressive experience in Human Resources
  • Strong background of financial reporting and understanding of GAAP
  • At least 3+ years’ experience in HR management role in manufacturing environment
  • Ability to demonstrate sufficient business knowledge to be effective in contributing to critical people decisions
  • Motivated self-directed individual with outstanding emotional intelligence
  • Proven leadership and ability to develop and maintain positive work culture
  • Excellence verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills needed to effectively convey information to others
  • Record of excellent attendance, punctuality and dependability
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong attention to detail and organizational/multi-tasking skills
  •  High proficiency in Excel and accounting software (such as Sage Pro)
