Talis Group’s client, a Louisville leader in the luxury custom goods and service industry for 75+ years is seeking a Controller/Accounting Manager to oversee all aspects of the company’s accounting operations. Position reports to the CEO and will be responsible for general ledger, financial statements, budget preparation, cash management, supervision of AR/AP, customer and supplier billing, payroll administration and sales tax. Job Requirements

Highlighted Duties:

  • Handle AR (including layaway billing & collections), AP, inventory, payroll administration, sales tax preparation, and maintenance of the General Ledger
  • Month-end close and financial statements
  • Account reconciliations and detailed analysis
  • Responsible for cash management and weekly reporting
  • Financial analysis and annual budget preparation
  • Responsible for interaction with third party administrator for payroll processing
  • Coordinate with external CPA for monthly financial review, cash flow analysis and annual income tax and 1099 reporting
  • Manage commercial and employee benefit insurance programs
  • Coordinate with third party IT consultants
  • Provide courteous and knowledgeable customer service and assist sales department with returns and related POS issues
  • Review and recommend revisions to accounting processes and procedures
  • Special financial projects as needed

Highlighted Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Business Management (Accounting or Finance focus) required
  • 5+ years accounting and/or audit experience
  • Experience in the luxury merchandising/service industry (such as vehicle, recreational marine, luxury jewelry, etc.) as it relates to financing these goods
  • Advanced QuickBooks and Excel skills required, Edge software experience a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy needed to successfully manage multiple projects and tasks
  • Solutions driven problem solver with an exceptional customer service mindset
  • An energetic approach with leading and encouraging a positive culture within the organization
  • A motivated and self-directed individual with the desire to roll up their sleeves and get the job done
  • Excellent oral, written, listening, presentation, influence, and interpersonal skills
